Join us for a special weaving workshop where you’ll create your very own shaker instrument!

Shakers and rattles are played in cultures throughout the world to carry our songs and dances. This is one of my favorite workshops to lead as I love to make music and dance!

With reeds and gathered materials, you will learn to weave in the round style of basketry. This basket class is unusual in that by the end you will have created a beautiful shaker instrument to play with, unique to your very own creativity and expression.

All materials will be provided, but if you have a pair of scissors or clippers you can bring those along.

If you have a special piece of fabric or clothing you’d like to weave into your shaker, you are welcome do so.
